Dr Shilpi Roy, an Indian artist is participating in the World Art Dubai 2023

Dr. Shilpi Roy is an Oncologist by profession and a mixed-media artist. She is self-taught and specializes in acrylics, mixed media, and knife painting. She is from India and has been based in UAE for the last 9 years. Her art is the portrayal of her feelings and moods. She is a true dreamer, and like her dreams, her paintings are colourful, vibrant, and full of life.

She teaches painting in her spare time as she enjoys the process of watching people unleash their creativity. She has been honored as a judge of several painting competitions in the UAE. She regularly exhibits her art in UAE and has been received very positively in several exhibitions, among them being the Vision 49 Art exhibition to celebrate UAE National Day 2020 by Funun Arts, the Year End Sale Exhibition 2020 and the Ramadan Kareem Art exhibition,2021 organized by Art smiley along with ‘Light of Gold Virtual Exhibition’ in Nov’21 by Artezaar.Some of her paint-
ings have found a place with private collectors in US, Canada, and India. She was also shortlisted as one of the finalists in the emerging scene art prize in UAE, and her work was live in their media network in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in key public locations like DIFC, Dubai Marina, JBR, JLT, Gate Avenue Mall and Gate Village.

Bliss is a mixed media art that describes capturing the subject's expression. In the classical Art nouveau style, she blended geometry and organic forms. This painting is an elaborate aesthetic showcasing floral patterns, curves, linear designs and the elegant silhouette of her main subject. She has unified glass paints, acrylics, foil and ink to put together her unique expression. However, unlike classical schemes, she chose to use bold, vibrant colours to depict the power and freedom the modern women.

kA’s is mixed media created by Shilpa Roy that describes the beauty in ancient Greek. The artist draws inspiration from the natural spinous curves of the plants and flowers along with her main subject. Using both organic and geometric forms, which is classical of art nouveau, she has united the flowing natural forms of the water with the stems and blossoms of the plant along with the beautiful flow of the clothing. Using glass paints, acrylics, gold foil and ink, she has created this painting with vibrancy and beauty in its true form, fusing ancient with the present.
