Colorful Abstract works by Artist A.P. LAITU at Art Smiley Exhibition A.P. LAITU: My Beautiful Journey that started after retirement, at Sixty. I came to UAE in 1995 in connection with putting up a factory for making Glass bottles. It was only destiny, otherwise after working happily for thirty four years in the same company, I was preparing for settling down somewhere in India. I had been fond of Arts and wanted to be a painter, but those days it was not supposed to be a good career & my parents did not agree. The vacuum of not doing anything for Art remained deep in my heart. This was year 2001 when my work contract with the Glass Company in Dubai was over & I joined Sharjah Art Institute, studied there for three years and finally passed out with full certification. Home Ulrike Krocker - Fine Artist / Writer / Publisher. Born in Austria, Ulrike was exposed to art from a young age. Her love for painting deepened during her studies in Paris where the abundance of marvelous art inspired her to start her first artistic ventures. She has been living in Abu Dhabi for more than 30 years and upon retirement from a demanding business career she is finally able to dedicate all her time to painting. In November 2017 she opened her studio and presented her first show of acrylic pouring paintings “The Flow of Life”. In October 2018, Ulrike showed at Etihad Modern Art Gallery as part of the exhibition: “Inspired by the Emirates” sponsored by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. Art Smiley Artist Of The Month – May 2019 – Maria Perevoshchikova Maria Perevoshchikova is a contemporary artist specializing in abstract acrylic paintings. Maria was born in Russia in 1986, and developed passion for art at an early age. Her mother was always fond of art, and encouraged Maria to continue doing what she seems to be naturally very good at. At the age of 18 Maria attended and finished The South-Ural Fine Arts School, where she developed her understanding of line, form, composition, and art history. As soon as the Iron Curtain of USSR fell down, Maria's family began to travel. Maria was absolutely astounded and inspired by the diverse natural and cultural cornucopia of the world behind the curtain. Maria obtained a Master's Degree in Hospitality Industry and Tourism and continued traveling. In 2010, Maria settled in the beautiful tropical island of Bali, Indonesia.
