Abeer Al Edani - An Iraqi artist based in Dubai , UAE. Born in Iraq in 1980. The artist had taken a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Basra University in 2003.
Abeer is a self – taught artist who started drawing at early age, she received a great support from her family to strengthen her passion in Art through the yearly activities and art workshops.
The artist is inspired by her attraction toward the culture of home country “Iraq”, customs, beauty of women, happiness and suffer which takes her to another level of inspirational creativity and that is reflecting clearly on her choice on art work and selection of art projects.
Her style ranges from impressionistic to abstract usually on canvases at least one meter square or larger, the artist is working with all kind of materials (Oil, acrylic, coil, coloring pencils…etc.) and mixed media.
First participation in Art exhibition was in the kindergarten in home city in Basra, Iraq when she was 5 years old and she had ranked in the first place for talented children.
The artist continued to developing her skills in drawing besides her study also she joined different local exhibitions in Iraq.
In Dubai she participated in different exhibitions, like “Rhythm of Art”, “World Art Dubai”, in addition, she is selected as a sole representative to present female artist on behalf of her home country (IRAQ) in “Better for Balance Exhibition” with other 88 female artists from the global.
Specializes in the use of palette knife and oil painting.
Her original abstract paintings, texture art takes normal oil painting, and adds a whole new dimension of possibilities in the abstract form. Abstract paintings texture art looks great as wall decor, and texture art interact with your room decor in a whole different way. She have used various subjects such as landscapes, cityscape, Dubai Nature, wildlife, Arabic culture etc.
